Ophelia Green was the only person at St. Gregory's primary school that wasn't mean to Harry Potter. You could even go so far as to say they were friends. So when Ophelia ends up in Hogwarts and finds out that her friend she thought she was leaving behind is with her she feels a sense of relief that she doesn't quite understand.
However when Harry starts making other friends she is left on the outskirts without a close friend. Until she meets someone unexpected.
