The darkness surrounded me. I lay on a what felt like a wooden wagon swaying to the rhythm of horses. The starry night sky staring down on me. I could see the moon and thousands of bright stars through the treetops. My legs and hands were bound together with rope. I could hear the sound of the wagon creaking and more horses to each side of me. I tried to sit up but soon realized my body was cut from head to toe and I could see my own blood in a pool around me. My eyes could no longer stay open, they closed against my will.
