A Kingdom protected by a mysterious and dangerous seaweed forest from prying eyes. But for those who had been living there for an eternity, this place was no mystery, but their one and only home. Llyr, a merman, had only known this Kingdom. He never dared to explore what was beyond the seaweed forest nor was he ever interested. He was completely happy with his life. He had a loving family, was appreciated by everyone and had a promising future in front of him. However, with his twentieth birthday approaching, he started to fear the day he would become an adult. Since no mermaid nor mermen believed in love, it was the matchmaker who would decide for everyone who would come at age. A Mermaid for the Lonely
A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.Complete
