There is a family who’s living quietly in California. Unfortunately, a miserable thing happened. That forces them to move to another country for their own safety and start a new life.

The world has changed around them as well. Their once all-white neighborhood is now mostly Southeast Asian and they have a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy old man living next door. Josh, a teenager, is challenged on his first week of stay in that village.

The grumpy old man living next door is a widower who can’t get along with others. He is an embittered Chinese War Veteran who has just lost his wife. Though, he lives a solitary life with his pet Lou, a Labrador. He also has two vehicles, a 1972 Gran Torino and a small van.

Two worlds will become one. A stubborn teenager and a grumpy old and unhappy man will meet in a small string of life. Well, let’s find out what’s the story behind the two of them. Will Walt then develops a relationship with Josh and his family?
