"One summer is all it takes." When Tara’s mom goes into rehab, Tara is sent off to spend the summer with her mom’s younger brother. So, Tara packs her bags for a quite summer of staying holed up in the guest room of her uncle’s summer villa, re-reading through her Jane Austen collection while simultaneously stuffing herself with every junk food item available within a 10 foot radius. But then, even before she sets foot on her uncle’s driveway, nothing quite works out the way she’s pictured in her mind. Because, there’s a girl next door who thinks Tara meets the social requirements to qualify for admission into her group of rich spoiled kids who don’t shouldn’t interest Tara at all, considering she’s a confirmed sarcastic cynic. But then there’s a guy (isn’t there always?) who seems to be genuinely interested in Tara, awkward non-filtered blabber and all. And Tara’s Jane Austen collection… pssh, what collection? Well, suffice to say, it’s a summer Tara couldn't have anticipated if her future self had travelled back in time and told her.
