After losing his family Lance became a nomad traveling around to find them with his best friends Hunk (a werewolf) and Pidge (a vampire) since Lance has yet to find his soul bond he's forced to drink animal blood, and even then it kinda makes him feel bad so he drinks water

When he decides to drink water from the river one night a huntsmen who's been looking for rouge vampires finds him and comes to take him out, Lance faints due to pain and lack of blood, to where he doesn't even realize that a certain mullet wearing werecat came to protect him
