A madman. A sarcastic teen. Two people thrown into a situation they never dreamed of. One must prevail.

Captain Jackhammer. A man of many chains. He's a recently divorced, insanely strong madman. "Armed" with a jackhammer, he finds a sort of peace killing people. But one day, he hears of a vigilante about town. He makes it his mission to tear apart the life of The Ghost. Dragging along his assistant, Shotgun Wizard, he kills to survive in a world of people who are against him.

John Boxal. A kid trying to lay low in a world of powers and popularity. A villain tries killing innocent people just to find joy. John can't take it. Armed with his new, absurd powers, the media dubs this hero The Ghost. But, out of spite and whimsy, John calls himself Ping Pong Fella. His paddle and wit, plus a friend or two, are all he has to defeat Captain Jackhammer.

Paddle and Hammer. Brain and Brawn. Ping Pong Fella and Captain Jackhammer. And soon enough... Winner and Loser.

"Just and average day. Robberies, a cold front coming in, war breaking out in some country, jackhammer killing, president gave a speech- wait, did that say it was gonna be cold?"

"And he felt this sense... a sense that he hadn't felt before. He realized that he needed to help."

"John paced around his room a few times, sometimes posing in the mirror to see if he looked like a superhero. He did not."

"John looked down at his paddle. Yeah, it was burned and only had rubber on one side, but there weren't a lot of ping pong paddles that shot lasers and gave people superpowers."

A man, a woman, a boy, a girl, a demon, and an alien, all walk into a bar... THEY FIGHT CRIME! The Starlight Sentinels, that's who! They're not your traditional superhero team, and they're not the other guys either, nor are they the grizzled antihero type. Instead, they're just people who happen to work as superheroes in a world where being a superhero isn't so much a call to greatness as it is an eccentric career choice and super villains are just another problem that people try not to think about. Drawing inspiration from films such as Shawn of the Dead and TV series such as the Venture Bros, the Starlight Sentinels was crafted to be an amusing and occasionally action-packed adventure grounded by a diverse cast of humorous but relatable characters. You may laugh at their numerous missteps, but you'll also be cheering for these heroes and heroines hard-earned triumphs as well. Join this comedic costumed cabal in their debut adventure as they fight crime and battle the forces of evil anytime they're not stuck filling out forms for the police, trying to appease their overbearing corporate sponsor, struggling to gain recognition from an apathetic public, or arguing over whose turn it is to do the shopping in this hilarious tongue-in-cheek tale that takes on all things superhero! Emerson Rogers liked to think of himself as an ordinary teenager. After all, he had no reason to believe otherwise. He went to an upstanding private school with the rest of his friends, was a straight-A student, had no disciplinary issues, and was well-liked according to his classmates and teachers. If anyone were to take a glance at him, they would assume that he was just another carefree rich kid with no problems in his life to worry about. Unless you consider the fact that his evening plans included putting on a blue super suit and speeding through the streets as a crime-fighting superhero. Okay, so maybe his life wasn't as ordinary and carefree as he liked to portray it. With Emerson starting his senior year of high school, things have started to become a bit more tricky than he would've preferred. Defending Jefferson City and maintaining a normal school life as a cover can be hard, but throw in his best friend getting closer to the truth about his alter-ego's identity and a mysterious villain working from the shadows who always seems to be two steps ahead, living a double life is going to be his biggest challenge yet. Especially when new villains start crawling out of the woodwork, thirsty for a fight, and his old villains return stronger, angrier, and looking to settle a score. As Emerson starts to uncover the truth behind where all these villains are coming from, he finds that not everything is what it seems on the surface. And that he and this mysterious villain have a stronger connection than he originally thought.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

Mark always knew who he could trust with all his secrets, who would walk with him, and who was out to get him. Being able to read minds had it perks but overall, it kind of sucked. Just having those constant voices in your head, yelling, whispering, just talking. It drove him mad. Mark was still an optimist, no matter what life threw at him. The red-haired kid that you would either see with a smile or a look of impatience, who stayed behind in empty classrooms for three minutes and only having two more minutes to run across the school the next classroom. That was Mark Fischbach, the one not many knew. Jack never knew who he could trust, who he could complain to, who to confine to without being betrayed. He didn't know why he couldn't trust people, he just had trust issues. He was an optimist, though even an optimist had something to complain about so they could remain optimistic. Not wanting to plague others with his deepest secrets that they had to keep or with his flurry of complaints that he had about life. He was the green-haired kid you could always hang out with, the kid that you could ask for help and he would always come through, the kid with the big toothy grin that everyone loved. That was the Sean McLoughlin that everyone knew. Jack didn't know a lot about his life. Who he could trust? Who he could be actual friends with? Who was out to get him? Who actually hated that giant grin on his face and wanted to wipe it clean? Who is the red-haired kid that looks like he's about to explode in the back of the classroom? Why does he want to help Jack? Why does he know that Jack needs help the first place? The Cotton Candy haired boys; Green and red acting as a beacon of that everyone's eyes are drawn to.
