"Baek? What happens to an animal after it becomes useless?" I ask through staggered breaths, my eyes getting heavier by the minute.

My head is resting on his lap, one of his hands is gently combing through my hair, while the other is desperately holding my hand in his. "They f-fix them, and make them all better again." He struggles to stay strong and not break down in front of me. A single tear falls on to my face as Baek looks down at me with glazed eyes. I take my free hand and caress his cheek.

"It's okay, We'll be together forever."
