Archibald is a humdrum banker from Georgia who makes an incredibly bad, life altering mistake when wording his proposal to his girlfriend. Indulging in emotional frivolity (for the first time in his considerably mundane life) he swears to have no marriage save for the perfect marriage. The Universe at large is holding him to this, and his next 12 months are the most unusual series of circumstances as Archibald tries to understand his predicament, from wondering if he's crazy to trying his hand at throwing dramatically throwing whiskey.
