Jack and his sister, Erin, did not wish to move to Main. Their new home is a old run down farm surrounded by woods, miles which felt like years away from town. The local kids treat Jack and Erin as snobby nobody's and scare them with old witch story.  Erin secludes her self from others, holding long conversations with her doll, and their parents are in the edge of divorce. Everyday they grown more and more unhappy with their new surroundings. 
At first Jack does not believe the old witch story, about the man-eating hog bloody bones, in till he is forced to believe Erin is in real danger. When Erin disappears he believes that Erin is "took" he must have courage to confront the witch and to take his sister back.
