Overweight 16 year old, Debra, has never cared much about her weight, unlike most teenage girls. She's completely confident and comfortable with herself. That is, until she moves across the country to a new school. She is bullied to the point where she starts to care and makes an effort to lose weight. At first, she is optimistic.
