A coincidental discovery tosses Jess, Lukas, and Radar into a mind-twisting adventure, where there's secrets to discover, allies to make, and a secretive new villain to defeat.
But nothing is quite as black-and-white as it first appears, and it soon becomes obvious that as bad as things seem to be, they can always get worse. Things quickly begin spiraling into chaos, with a truly terrible consequence if time should run out before all the problems are solved and mysteries untangled.
What started out as a curious investigation becomes a terrifying race against time, where even the most obvious things become twisted beyond all recognition.
After all, when the universe as you know it is changing before your very eyes, can you even trust yourself?

Dragon-riders have a tough life. Hard as it may be, Petra loves every bit of it. Racing comes naturally to her and her faithful dragon, and she wouldn't trade it for anything. However, if things don't start going her way, she might be out of the races forever- and into an even more difficult life that will begin with losing everything she loves. Lukas, on the other hand, wants out. He never wanted to be a racer, and forced into the life by unfortunate circumstances. No one likes it when an aggravating rumor about them circulates around town. Petra was beginning to believe that she was chosen by the universe to become society's reject as she had faced betrayal after betrayal in each of Endercon's friendship huddles. Over time, ejection from each group led to a buildup of unkind words spoken behind her back, haughty glares and worst of all, leaked posters that people actually put effort into! But just as she was about to surrender all her hope for a normal, unobtrusive life, her path collides with the Ocelots, the most adored band of winners led by the charming Lukas, who gladly accepts her into their squad. They will be her final straw: the annual building competition she'll actually get to take part in this year would prove it.
