Sports have grown to become an enormous part of who I am, influencing what I do and how I do it on a daily basis. If it weren't for martial arts and running, I don't know where I'd be. Far less athletic, still huddled under my shell, and lacking the confidence I now wield.

Regardless, they've shaped my outlook on life, given me the courage to challenge myself, and helped me gain the strength and the attitude to become multi-talented. I'm absolutely grateful for my life playing out the way it has. It's helped me blossom into the person I am today, ready to face whatever life throws at me head on.

This is my account of what it truly means to be an athlete.
