With her heart torn asunder, her pearly teeth knawring at each other her quivering lips moved but an inch to let out a cold, frost bitten breath. The pure white snowflakes collected in her snowy pale hair, making the colour appear to glow in contrast to her grey, thin jumper. The small girl, no older than 17, stumbled to an entrance of an unwelcoming abandoned cave. With her small freezing hands she cradled herself rubbing her hands along her grey jumper, but with little success. Silently she pleaded for the frostbite to bid her body farewell but to no avail. Her lips were turning a deep blue and the poor girl could no longer feel her toes or feet, with her pounding heart slowing to a stop she collapsed onto the caves stones unforgiving floor, her fragile form in sight of the moonlight. A shadow from the corner emerged, neither human nor animal the shadow looked at the peculiar being before deciding to settle next to her. Tucking her in between its tail and body it stared at a small pile of leftover sticks before spitting a soft glowing ember onto the loose pieces of ripped dead grass. The flame danced and twirled on the sticks providing a warm subtle flickering light to the now sleeping forms. All Rights Reserved
