Gladio never realized how he felt about Noctis but when the Omega prince is attacked by two Alphas it makes everything clear for the shield, who is also an alpha. When Noct goes into heat there are a lot of Alphas who want Noct and Gladio realizes the one thing that will make the other alphas back off of his prince is the one thing they've both wanted for a long time.
