Caroline spent her whole life wondering what was behind the barrier that kept her from seeing what was beyond her mountain home. Thomas can't remember anything in his life but sailing the seas. He's content that way, until he finds out about the land. His captain forbidding him to go there just fuels his curiosity and eagerness to rebel against the orders not to go. But he is also told that the land is dangerous. Why?
