Marco Diaz, your average teenage "safe kid".  Never mind, scratch that...

Marco Diaz, an unordinary teenage "safe kid". Yeah, Marco thought he was normal. However that was before  he was brought to another dimension to train and practice his new powers. Yeah, apparently he has superpowers that no one told him about. 

So being an elementalist, Marco is forced to train with the highly respected magician, Star Butterfly, a girl with an extremely powerful family, who doesn't open up to anybody.

As Marco trains with Star, he actually successfully gets her to open up a little bit until she shuts him out completely again. Out of pure curiosity, Marco does eventually find out what the entire deal with the Butterfly family is. he also figures out that he himself has a secret weapon that nobody knows about. And when Marco finds out that this weapon could save the realm of magic or destroy it forever, he realized that there is really so such thing as trial and error.
