After falling asleep while reading a book in a library, Scarlett Devons wakes up to find out she's locked inside the library. To make the night seem to go by quicker, she wandered in places only the staff could go. She ended up finding a basement with lots of old books filled with dust and cobweb.

Turns out behind the book shelf led to a portal, which leads to another dimension. Without thinking twice, Scarlett goes through the portal and is shocked to see another world on the other side.

She explored the advanced technology world and managed to speak to a couple of the citizens. Except when she goes to return home, the portal is locked shut on the other side. Scarlett is trapped.

Follow Scarlett on trying to blend into this world as she tries to find a way to go back home.

The first book in the 'Sanity:' Trilogy Scarlett has been given the short end of the stick, born into a rich family and given the gifts of athletic and academic brilliance, she clearly overshadows her peers. However, her home life is less than spectacular with themes of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and self-harm painting the picture of her reality at home. When she finally has had enough and snaps, she's thrown into some of the worst experiences of her life. Read with Caution. "... A lighter was produced, a small piece of toilet paper in the other hand. A light, an ignition, and the flaming paper was dropped into the trash, igniting the waste as my own fire burned in that bed. My few, sacred fragments of sanity were burning. And it was only a matter of time before the rest of this house did too. "It's always been you, Phoenix. You are the one who makes me the happiest. Just being in the same room as you gives me god damn butterflies. Hearing the sound of your voice makes me feel safe and protected. And when you left for college, home didn't feel like home anymore. That's when I realized that home wasn't just a house or a place you live at...for me, it was you." Scarlett Wolf has the looks of her father but the sass, class, and kindest soul from her mother. She wears her heart on her sleeve and there is only one person on earth who takes up the biggest part of it. The one who she has been desperately in love with since diapers and the one who has never seen her as anything other than just a little girl. Phoenix Zeller has the rugged looks, charm, and cluelessness from his father but the passionate and protective heart from his mother. He's serious and stubborn at times, but when he finally opens up, he is the biggest sweetheart you'll ever know. And just when he thinks he has a good grasp on life, a little "Wolf" will come along to flip his world upside down in the best way possible. **This is book two of my "Out of" series. Book one is called "Out of Left Field" which is about the parents of the characters in this story. It is currently on the Chapters app, but I will be slowly transferring it over to Wattpad. You do not have to read book one first. Just know that there may be a few very simple details you would be missing.** Copyright © 2020 by Jenna Stephens All rights reserved. Scarlett Romero has spent her entire life as an ordinary citizen; going to school, getting a job and definitely not killing people in the middle of the woods on a Friday night. Until one Friday night, she does. All she can remember is acting out of self-defence. So, Scarlett's confused when she's carted off to a remote area of the country as a new inmate in Citadel Prison, a prison for supernatural creatures. Of course, Scarlett doesn't know this. In the dark about the supernatural community, separated from her best friend and subjected to an attempted murder by the prison's Governor upon arrival, Scarlett only has one ally. The unknown man protecting her from starvation, dehydration and the other inmates. The person everyone seems to be afraid of. Lycanthrope Alexander Del Porto. But he can only protect her for so long. Scarlett isn't ordinary, and her dormant supernatural abilities may get her into more trouble than they're worth.
