Mackenzie Whitristle is an ordinary teen, sort of. The truth is, her father disappeared when she was younger, leaving her mom and her brother to survive on their own. Kenzie, a pessimistic runner, soon becomes a lifeguard to follow in her father's footsteps. Along the way, she meets Colin, the dashing young son of her closest father figure on the beach and instantly something sparks between them. But not everything meets the eye in the town of Windwashed. Sooner or later, she'll figure out that not everything is completely on top of the surface in her town.
