A Moonlight Haze

Jewel had never felt more trapped. She had never been more in pain. Her lungs burned, her head felt as if it was about to split in pairs, and her whole body felt like it was dipped in a boiling volcano. Nightmares plagued her head and fear coiled at the pit of her stomach. Her heart was racing way too fast that she was sure it was about to rip out from her chest. She was so scared. She blinked once, trying to blink away the tears that threatened to fall...and she found herself on the rooftop. She looked around and remembered that she was no longer there. She wasn't in that lab anymore. She was safe. Well...somewhat safe.
