Chilly, callous glowers were directed at me, like serrated daggers to a target, as everyone swarmed Bellamy's conscious yet weak body. I was edged off to the side, each pair of eyes dismissing the pleading expression I wore. Through the small group of people I could make out Octavia helping her brother sit up. I wanted to help and take care of Bellamy but I knew they wouldn't let me, not now.
We were all classed as criminals but now I guessed they deemed me worse than any person down here. They had to understand, it's not how it was made out to be. I needed to explain so they knew everything and maybe their thoughts would change.
"Please, let me explain."
"There's nothing to explain. We heard it through the radio."
"I swear that's not what really happened. Just- please let me explain, Bellamy."
"Stop begging."
"Bellamy, say something. Please say something..."
