A strong scent hit my nose as soon as I stepped foot into the clearing in the woods where the mating ball would be held. The scent was either one of two things.
Either someone made delicious cinnamon rolls that I would soon have in my stomach.

I smelled my mate.
I really hoped it was the first one. Cinnamon rolls are the best. And since the Moon Goddess absolutely ADORES me- note the sarcasm- I realized I was sadly mistaken as the scent got stronger and everyone around me instantly dropped to a bow.

I heard the the snow crunching under foot as I ran as fast as my legs would take me through the forest. The air whipped through my hair as I ran, creating a ribbon like flow behind me. I dipped and dodged around trees, careful not to trip or run into anything. Just a little further, I thought to myself. I knew I would be safe as soon as I saw the little cottage at the end of the thick forest. I was so close to my freedom, so close to opening the door. Bam! My body instantly became cold. I squealed as the snow fell into my collar and down my back. I wiggled trying to get it to pass through my coat and drop out the bottom. I turned around with a glare on my face. My father stood facing me with a smug grin. Again, I attempted to stomp into the house when suddenly, my mother jumped out at me out of no where and pelted snowballs at my entire body, I noticed through the chaos my big sister was also helping her.
