“After over a thousand years of peace… I can’t believe it. You’ve got to run. Protect him, Sam. Save Arthur. Save Albion.” Sixteen years of the most Average Joe life known to man quickly run away from Sam Claver in one afternoon. Growing up in the area of England where Camelot, home of the Arthurian legend, supposedly was, Sam knows the ins and outs of the famed King Arthur and Merlin myth: ‘Arthur—the greatest King to have ever existed. Merlin—the most powerful wizard to have ever existed.’ But they didn’t exist; it’s just a story, a fairytale. Isn’t it? Sinead Annis seems to disagree. And she’s persistent that Sam needs to understand that perhaps they are more than legends. Perhaps they are wholly truthful. Exactly one-thousand, five-hundred and twelve years have passed since King Arthur perished on the battlefield. The dark forces that ended his rule prematurely have had over a millennia to recover and regain strength. They will attack again. Oh yeah, and don’t forget the part where Sinead seems to think Sam is the reincarnation of the timeless sorcerer: Merlin.
