Decades ago, a woman named Laney Ryvers had a horse farm in the Canadian mountains. She died unexpectedly one day. What would have happened if her grandkids actually visited, who knows. But Fuego, a fiery old stallion, broke out of his stall and helped the other horses kick their stall loose, too. And then they formed the Rockies Herd - a mysterious herd of Quarter Horses (like Shiloh and Macchiato) and Lipizzaners (like Snowy). One day, a special foal is born, a Quarter Horse named Shiloh.
Shiloh doesn't stay with the Rockies. His older brother, Macchiato, and several other stallions stray from the herd, creating a bachelor herd.
One day, news spreads of this new, 6-Horse herd. Danger awaits Shiloh.
