Oakenshield's child, the daughter of his heart rather than his flesh and blood, straps in for the adventure of a a life time when she accompanies her adoptive father and his band of Dwarves to reclaim their lost homeland. Ariel, Daughter of Durin, faces down orcs, goblins, and Elf Kings without batting an eye, but surely even she must have some weakness. The war for her home will push her to her breaking point as she finds love, betrayal, and loss cutting deeper than she ever thought possible. With such an intelligent, kind, and brave girl fighting for what she believes in, only one thing could possibly get in the way-

But along the way, she realizes there is more to the King Under the Mountain than meets the eye, and as they come to know one another, she becomes more determined to break down his walls and bring some happiness into his life.
