The Beautiful Introvert

"What's the worst thing I've stolen?" the words slurs out of his mouth. He got quiet, too quiet for my taste.

While he is at a lost of words, I let my eyes wonder. He no longer has that scowl plastered on his face. His expression dulled as sadness clouded his features. I realized that he isn't at lost for words but he is actually struggling to find his words. His fists are clenched and the way his eyes glistened, I knew he was close to tears. My heart broke at the sight of him.

"Probably the little pieces of other people's lives. Where I've either wasted their time or hurt them in some way. That's the worst thing you can steal, the time of other people. You simply can't get or give that back."

I was shocked. Now I was the one at as lost of words. Never have I heard such true words been spoken before. Never have I ever seen him so broken before. Who could have had such an effect on him? Seeing him like this made my heart ache.
