It's been a question that I've seen going around, about how odd it is when Bastion turns into a tank in which its tank parts seem to come out of nowhere during the transformation sequence. It can be theorised that the tank form was an inert programming in Bastion units that our Bastion tapped into somehow, or just a whole new form that our Bastion learned how to do.So with this idea, Bastion, with its ability to think for itself, either discovered an inert tank configuration programming in itself which it reactivated, or it had taught itself how to transform its body into a tank. This then ties in with why Bastion can only keep its tank form for a few second in-game because its body was not intended to turn into a tank in the first place, thereby placing stress on itself when in tank form. So Bastion can't maintain its tank form for too long because of that, transforming back after a few seconds to prevent any serious damage from the stress.Configuration Bastion for transforming into Tank is our Bastion and only our Bastion's special trick that it taught itself somehow.
