Humans and Merfolk aren't at all aloud to interact, due to two simple rules in the Merfolk Kingdom

•No interacting with human/merfolk
•No romantic relations with human/merfolk

If merfolk do break these rules, then they will punished by drying out in the burning sun. If humans do break these rules, they will be forced the watch the merfolk, they interacted with, burn to death with their own two eyes.
