Society as a definitions means the aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community. But as years progress, our community and world as a whole starts to fall apart. All of our problems are all amongst us, our society. PREVIEW (CHAPTER 17 ~ RACISM) ~ "I am a woman of color," Amara tells herself in the mirror,"and I am proud." Amara never used to have to do this but now, she tells it to herself everyday. When Amara was younger, about 9, she heard her first racial slur. She had never heard of such a word. You see, when Amara was just a baby, she was adopted by a white family who never taught her about such things. They bullies called her names and teased her. Once Amara knew what those words meant, she started to wish things she never even thought about before. She wished she was like her parents. Her parents never got called those names. Her parents were white. One day, a stranger approached Amara. This stranger was named Felix. He told her that she was beautiful and to not listen to what they told her. Now, Amara believes that she is beautiful and that she should love herself the way she is. Point: You are beautiful. Whether you are Black, White, Native, Hispanic, Muslim, etc. you were put on this planet for a reason. Mariyah collin is a thick girl, she have a huge crush on this guy name Dustin for 3 years and she's obssesed with him . Dustin is a fit, handsome, popular guy in school. He hate fat girls mostly he hate Mariyah, he like to fat shame/verbal abuse her and that make Mariyah hurt alot, but she's hiding it. Mariyah suffer from, Insecurities, deepresion, suicidal thoughts, crying everyday and night before sleep. she has no self-confidence, she just hate herself and wanted to end her life just because of Dustin and her thick body but she's trying to stay strong. Mariyah is an only child. She had a lovely parents trying their very best to support her. She can lose weight but there are some reason that make her hard to lose weight. Mariyah didn't tell anyone that she suffers from pain and suicidal stuff. she kept it all by herself not even her family and friends until one day everything has spilled out. what kind of reason? why did she like Dustin that much? what happened to Mariyah later?
