"Never have I ever-" Nellie paused with a brief look at me, "written a poem for anyone." We stared at each other for what seemed to be an eternity until Kelly raised her glass and drink up the contents. I followed suit, eye contacts momentarily broken by my raised cups. I couldn't see if she had a sip of her drinks, but I was sure Nellie meant for me to put the two together. Never had the wedding band felt heavy on my finger, and I fought the urge to touch it. I had known that it wasn't right. I was married. I am married.

What started as an innocent lie, trapped them into a marriage, entwining their fates with unexpected partners. But here's the catch, the marriage won't last forever, the holy bond wasn't so holy, a contractual bond emerged, benefitted them both and bound them together, at least for a while. Falling in love was thrown out of the window the moment she signed the contract, she wasn't going to fall in love with an egoistic, arrogant and self-centred-asshole of a lawyer anyways. ••• "No love drama, right?" "I'd rather die."
