Tras la muerte de Allison Argent, Stiles continúa culpándose a sí mismo por su muerte y es tal el sentimiento de culpa que lo lleva a atravesar un momento de desesperación, sufrimiento y conflicto con su existencia. A pesar de que la manada cuida de él, nadie llega a saber que Stiles está a punto de desmoronarse en su propia agonía, a excepción de Derek, quien se muestra comprensivo por su sufrimiento y ayudará al joven Stiles a superar este difícil conflicto.

Stiles and Derek have a short lived relationship. After being apart for a month, Derek suggests they be friends with Benefits. No strings attached. To say the least, things don't go their way. Lying starts, secrets are exposed and new ones arise, jealousy spikes, confusion is almost constant. In the end, what friendships will be left standing? -Sneak Peak- But the worst of it comes when everyone is gone and Noah cracks open his bedroom door, praying his son isn't stuck in some sort of daze still. Stiles can't sleep, and if he told enough people that was all it was, maybe he would start to believe it. Still, as tensions were rising about them losing their territory he couldn't bother them with something he didn't even fully understand. Maybe he just needed something fun and easy to help him relax. Like the hot neighbor that he keeps catching staring at him. Derek can't sleep, and if he cleans his house enough maybe people won't realize how he doesn't care enough to clean up other parts of his life. Anger filled the man's eyes. "Mieczysław Genim Stilinski!" Derek tensed at the fury and his claws slipped out. The boy quickly covered them with his hands. The boy in question winced. "Hi Dad." The man turned to the woman with him. "Save it Sheriff. I see the complaints about your gross disregard for procedure aren't unfounded. Pray, do tell me there is a reasonable explanation why your own son is in the room with a murder suspect?" Whoa wait... He's a murder suspect?! The boy's wide eyes quickly became hard with determination. He immediately knew what ever came out of his mouth was going not going to end well. "I have a perfectly reasonable explanation." One slip up, on one night, can change a lot of things between the two when an alpha pack strolls into town.
