Annette Hutchins doesn't ask for much: a "normal" life she can be happy with. Having been dealt a bad hand many times, she just wants a peaceful summer vacation before starting senior year. But that's too much to ask, isn't it? Due to very unplanned, unforeseen circumstances, Annette has to reevaluate her own worth while fighting against people, nature, and even herself. Just like any other teenager on summer vacation, she has to figure out who she is.
