Jace Carter is a young scientist who's enjoying a vacation with his two friends, he suddenly is called back into work by a colleague with the U.S.G.S., a volcano presumed to be extinct in the Northern Cascade Range in Washington State is recording unusual activity. He and his friends go to the area, a town called Crestview sitting under the shadow of Angel's Peak. A calm, tranquil visit is immediately ruined by a strong earthquake, the crew then tries to convince a power hungry mayor to evacuate the town as an escalating series of tragedies lead toward a final, cataclysmic volcanic eruption that will leave each and every person in its wake fighting for survival.
