Ever since they were a week old they have lived on Atuni. It is a planet in another universe. There are only children because on the way there the adults inhaled a toxic that only harms them. Romein is the toxic. It goes in the brain and kills the cells. When the cells are killed, the heart stops. The toxic only harms adults because their cells are fully developed and the babies are not.
When the children got there, there was a 13 year old girl waiting for them. She never grows up. She stays her age. She is the only one like her. Well she is a clone of her sister who died at age 13 due to a heart issue. She is a twin. On the day she was cloned, her parents made it so she wouldn't age. It was a test to see if it would work and it did. Her parents made the decision for her to send her on the trip so she could be the one who is helping the children grow up. Her name is Rhea.

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Titans
Here are a few things you should know before you get started reading there are six titans with contracts and one without a contract and four children and one teenager and one of them of the seven (counting the teenager) is the "key" and there is one titan that is wanting the "key" if he gets his hands on him the world is doomed. Miclor is one of the titans that was supposed to watch over the children until the other six make their contract with them but he accidentally makes a contract with Alex one of the seven. Moniky, Miclor's older brother made a forced contract with Terra (the teenager). After Alex's mother died he went on a search to find the killer along with Miclor and the other titans. Miclor and the other titans are animals (can change into animals too, but you have to figure it out yourself and they do have clothes). Miclor was watching seven other children before them but they were killed but two a boy and a girl but he gave his sister the boy because he thought she could help him and kept the girl with him so he could watch over her and as she grew up and had Alex along with Terra (not blood-related). Terra disappeared and was forced to have a contract with Moniky. Now you have to start reading but the first part might be confusing when I put it on here and if it is tell me. In the future, science has found a way to re-animate the dead and make them pliant servants for the wealthy. They buy the units for 10,000 for a base model. More attractive units sell higher as well as the more physically fit the model is the higher the price. The units are used for anything and everything their owner wants, from household work to administrative duties, to even being sexual companions. They are each programmed with a hard drive in their brain that works like a computer and allows them to have a quick mind and agility, as well as nano machines in their body to repair any damage that can occur with normal usage. There are some people who still view the units as a dead body and have trouble interacting with them in their daily life. But most of the population is too poor to even afford one so this problem is left to the upper classes that can buy the units. For some, poverty is worse than death.
