Layne was an average citizen in Maire Village, foraging and hunting solely for food. He lived frugally and humbly, as anyone would. While out on an expedition with his friends, he's captured by a shadowy figure and taken to a tomblike prison of nightmarish foes. With next to no explanation of what just happened, and with no weapons to defend himself, Layne must rely on his own cunning, make connections with others trapped in the catacombs, and utilize his navigational skill to find a way out. As he does this, a forgotten past slowly reveals itself to him. Two days before this event, he meets another hunter in the form of Ren, the runaway daughter of a famed crusader, and the escapee of a spoiled young nobleman who sought to make her his bride. Unbeknownst to Layne, Ren's past holds more than she tells him, and her powerful connections just might be the key to saving his life. The world contradicts itself as myths, creeds, and legends prove to be unreliable interpretations of the forces both Layne and Ren encounter. Only a firsthand experience with the supernatural can tell them the truth.

Danger Mason's world is suddenly full of lies. He's pretty used to hiding, being a warlock has meant being hidden from the outside world. But now his mother is missing, and his life is uprooted to go and live with his father who he's never met. Danger doesn't know who to trust, his father's family is nice enough but his father is denying being his parent. And with clues to his mother's disappearance piling up, Danger begins to suspect that there's more to things than meets the eye. It doesn't help that his father's family is a prolific set of vampire hunters, with a tendency to sympathize with their prey. Trigger/Content Warnings: Some unsettling fantasy violence, creature violence. Intense blood and gore. Language throughout. Some mention of child abuse and eating disorders which may be upsetting to some readers. Somewhat suggestive dialogue between a married couple. Be aware of your mental state and seek support as needed.
