Thousands of years ago below the ocean waves, the Kingdom of Merind were victorious in eradicating their enemy with the help of the Gods of the Sea. Before disappearing they decreed that when a Prince of Merind comes of age he must host what is known as the Tides to find his mate and future Queen.
Prince Jeffery Thorton has delayed the Tides for as long as possible. After celebrating his twenty-second birthday he knows he can't push it off any longer. Lauren Holland is a human that works in the royal household. Jeffery and Lauren are secretly in love.
