When he was a child, Allen's grandmother used to read to him from a book of fables. There were dozens of stories. Often they featured witless young witches, who despite all warning, failed to stay away from blood magic. Their fates were ugly, tragic. True to tradition, Allen failed just as spectacularly.
Allen thought he was doing something good when he used the blood-spell from an old Grimoire to save a dying snake, tying him as a familiar. Only, not all animals are what they seem...
The Grimoire is not the only old thing lurking in town. There's something else; something that will offer you your wishes on a golden platter, if you only make a deal.
