Spencer has spent all his life wandering. His team teases him for never having a date. They always slip extra paperwork in his pile because they know he doesn't do much outside of work.
One day after a case Spencer runs into a girl in a bookshop. At first he was confused as to why she didn't speak. Then it became clear, she was selectively mute. He suddenly finds himself drawn to helping her. For once he feels normal.
