"Love makes you stupid and scared. I'm already scared, of basically everything might I add. I don't need to have a stupid thing like love added to my fears," you whispered, your voice cracking.
"No, love doesn't make you scared. Stupid, yeah, probably, why the fuck not. But scared? No, I've never been scared of you or the idea that I love you, Y/n. Love makes me strong," he said quickly, pushing up his glasses when he was done speaking.
"I'm scared though. I'm scared, Richie," you said, a tear rolling down your cheek.
"What are you scared of, Y/n?"
"Everything! Y-you're gonna leave me, you're gonna fall out of love with me and you're gonna leave me all alone-"
"You're not scared of love then. You're scared of being alone."
"The monsters come out when I'm alone," you sobbed out, more tears rolling down your cheeks.
He leaned in and whipped the tears from your face with his thumb. His mouth was inches away from yours.
"I love you, Richie Tozier, but I'm scared. I'm so fucking scared," you whispered.
"Don't be scared doll, I'll protect you from the monsters, I promise."
