Ali is a New Yorker at heart but when her father dies her mother can't deal with the ghosts of their town any longer, so they pack up and head towards their grandparents in Alabama. Needless to say Ali feels lost, she has to leave her best friends and start over with people who are completely different from her. The people of the south don't operate like northerners. The social hierarchy is different but the same in so many ways. She finds herself tangled up in the hands of the bad boy and can't get out no matter how hard she tries. But how bad is he really? Not only will she screw herself up but she'll find people who have been just as royally screwed as she has.
