Hashy is a Dhuuni by blood (a healer) but a slave by birth. Under her first master, her ability to heal is a blessing and brings her a lot of freedom for a slave. However, when she's sold to another master, her gift becomes a curse. Hashy is quickly driven to madness by her master's demands and it looks as though she hasn't the strength necessary to rise above her circumstances. But, a new face in her life changes everything.  Det, who is dying at the hands of Hashy's master, asks Hashy to make a promise to return something sacred to Det's sister who is far away. Hashy agrees, but as a slave she has no idea how she'll ever be able to fulfill the promise she's made. When the opportunity comes, will Hashy take it? And when things go terribly wrong, will she have the will to persevere regardless? Come join Hashy on her journey of self-discovery as she learns to become her own master.
