Hashy is a Dhuuni by blood (a healer) but a slave by birth. Under her first master, her ability to heal is a blessing and brings her a lot of freedom for a slave. However, when she's sold to another master, her gift becomes a curse. Hashy is quickly driven to madness by her master's demands and it looks as though she hasn't the strength necessary to rise above her circumstances. But, a new face in her life changes everything. Det, who is dying at the hands of Hashy's master, asks Hashy to make a promise to return something sacred to Det's sister who is far away. Hashy agrees, but as a slave she has no idea how she'll ever be able to fulfill the promise she's made. When the opportunity comes, will Hashy take it?
