Forget-me-not

'I don't want to be forgotten when I go.' She whispered through her tears.
I kissed the tears of her face. 'I couldn't forget you if I tried.' I had learned by now that there was no point trying to tell her she wasn't going anywhere.
When I first found her she had already lost hope but in my heart I would never lose her, I wasn't going to let her give up this fight because she wasn't on her own any more, I needed her. I had already lost to much.
I handed her the bunch of flowers I had kept hidden behind my back.
'Forget-me-nots,' she whispered.
