Before Dragon Age Inquisition was released, I felt like Cullen deserved to have his own romance, after all he had been through.
In the third act of Dragon Age 2, the tensions in the city brewed and bubbled between the Templars and Mages. In the middle of it, Knight Captain Cullen was trying to keep order. Rumors on the streets whisper his Knight Commander mad, but she was the one the Order trusted to lead them and yet he was not so confident in her sanity any longer. Then he gets an unexpected visitor, wishing to warn him that they would be in the city.
The famed Hero of Ferelden, arrived unannounced and traveling alone. Solona (Female, Human, Mage.) was as beautiful as he remembered. It was only when he saw her again that he realized, he never stopped caring for her. She had grown, matured, and she seems to remember how much he liked her all those years ago.
Solona came to the city, looking for someone whom she thought she could trust and she wanted answers. She traveled alone, drawing as little attention to her as possible, so her quarry would not flee. She did not expect to run into Cullen ever again, but he was here. He was not the scared boy nor a tortured, angry prisoner he once was. He had become so much more and she did not know if she could stay away from his hidden passion that she still remembers fondly today.
