Andy Kalgan comes from a rough past and an abusive household. But all goes downhill when he was told his supernatural abilities were unstable he though he was surrounded by idiots. But after an incident that ended with him spending a night in the local jail, he is taken to a special school for kids like him. 

There he meets four new people and a close acquaintance that he will fight with to protect their home world. He creates friendships and relationships at the supernatural academy. His sister was left with their long lost mentally sick mother when their abusive alcoholic stepmother never returns from daily work shift.

This is a romance book, mainly focusing on Ashton and Kai, but also focusing on the others in the book a bit too. He isn't his usual happy-go-lucky self and hasn't been since the house fire that killed his Mom and sister three years ago. His dad has a good paying job and Kabe has a good relationship with him. His friends have stuck with him ever since the fire. They worry about him because his personality has changed severely over the years, like he doesn't laugh or smile, and he doesn't talk much unless he absolutely has too. Through this story, he'll learn things about himself that he's never thought about; like the fact that he's gay. He didn't really find that out until he met Seth. At first, he never really thought about him, but then as he goes on, he begins to develop feelings for him like he'd never imagine. He runs into some trouble along the way but he stays strong with the help of Seth and with the help of his friends. He is surprised at how much love can change you whether it's for good or for worse.

After finding out that one of them is cursed with immense dark powers and the other is gifted with overwhelming pure powers, the question now is will both of them be able to work together to stop the dark side from being triumphant over them.
