A child the youngest was mother's heart. She longed so much for the youngest of her three when she planned to steal two of us from school and pick up the youngest while he played outside and did not get him because my sister wanted to walk in the school's Halloween parade. Her insistence on being in the parade through the timing off on nabbing all three of us. Hours later mom told her aunt she would trade my sister and me for my youngest brother. This poem reflects those thoughts.

It all started with a confession. They vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives. To be with each other's side through thick and thin. They will be each other's happiness and strength. They will be the best couple to ever live on Earth. A sweet promise of a four year old lad to his mother's friend daughter. But many years had past. They grew up. They met a lot of people. They got mature. They become strangers. Where did their sweet promise to love each other forever go? Was it buried in the past already? How? How did they end up as strangers? That was her question.
