High school student Pemalope Dissanayake and her two younger sisters move in with old family friends on the other side of the country after her parents don't make it out of an unfortunate car accident. Mal must learn to adjust to her new life in Seattle, WA, where no one knows the truth about her and she doesn't have any friends...
