What happens when you meet those pair of eyes? When they lock up with yours, if you had just felt that unique feeling 'you are the one', nothing matters anymore.
That was what happened to Naevia, the mermaid princess. That was what happened to Augustus, a captain of a pirate ship.
When the mermaid queen, Ophelia opposes Naevia's relationship with a human, Naevia has to find a way to give up the throne just to be with her beloved Augustus.
Even if you belong to two different worlds, you just can't survive without your other half. That was what they felt about each other.
It was not coincidence to find your other half in a completely different world.

A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school.
