Arabella Rose has lived her whole life in Westchester, New York with her grandmother after her parents' divorce. An average straight-A student who loves writing, she's decided that she'll spend her entire existence as a somewhat boring person...that is, until a letter containing a scholarship to the prestigious boarding school Mistwood Academy comes in the mail.

Eager to start anew, Arabella decides to move to England and begin a fresh chapter in her otherwise dull life. And Mistwood Academy seems to provide just that. But while Arabella tries to navigate the school halls (filled with mean girls, cute boys, mystifying teachers, and more), she soon realizes that something's not quite right about the school. A sinister threat is looming overhead, mysteries are begging to be solved, and secrets are waiting to be discovered...and Arabella herself seems to be in the center of it all. And for the first time in her life, it seems that it's finally up to her to step up and to make the decision that can change lives forever...
