Hiding In Plain Sight
In the bustling city of Haywood, nineteen-year-old Venus Monroe seems to have it all: beauty, popularity, a budding modeling career, her best friend Tony, and her devoted boyfriend Zane. But beneath her glamorous image, Venus secretly dreams of designing clothes rather than being forced into the spotlight. Her controlling uncle Benny, who also acts as her agent, has other plans-he pushes her into endless photo shoots and social events, refusing to let her walk away from modeling.
Things take a dark turn when Venus's beloved cat, Gizmo, nearly dies after his medication is mysteriously tampered with. Soon after, Venus decides to confront Benny and declares she's done with modeling. Furious, Benny warns her she cannot back out of her contract. On her way home, Venus is stalked by a mysterious figure in hunting gear. Hours later, she vanishes without a trace.
Her disappearance shocks those closest to her. Tony and Zane struggle to cope as the search turns up few answers. A chilling letter surfaces-threatening and addressed to Venus-which raises more questions about who might want to harm her. While suspicion falls on Benny, new players emerge: Tony's estranged friends, shady nightclub owners, and even Venus's long-absent brother Carson, who may know more than he lets on.
As Tony and Zane dig deeper, they uncover buried secrets about Venus's past, her toxic family ties, and disturbing events that suggest her disappearance may not be random. Haunted by guilt, obsession, and betrayal, they are pulled into a dangerous web where nothing-and no one-is as it seems.
At its core, Hiding in Plain Sight is a suspenseful mystery-thriller about identity, ambition, and survival. It explores how far people will go to protect secrets, the fragile nature of trust, and whether Venus is truly gone-or hiding in plain sight.
