When someone's heart breaks so does a piece of our world; this creates fissures, valleys, and even cracks in the pavement. Everyone in the world had access to the memory which then created legends, myths, and fairy-tales to them. However, no one can gather any sort of information from the Grand Canyon. No one can access the memory except for two ordinary people and once they do.... they cannot differentiate whats reality and what is fiction...
